About Me
My name is Dominic "Chip" Henry. While serving 35 years in prison, I founded and led a certified federal inmate organization that grew from 4 to 60 members. We were responsible for changing the mindset of thousands of men and we helped over 160 men find jobs prior to release, six (6) of which started their own business. I ran the organization just like a business/university to give my comrades real world experiences. This also brought a campus-like feel to the prison community. As a result, the institution won the Golden Apple Award for Education Excellence. In 2004, I created the Leadership Training Academy. I longed to be to troubled youth what I never had growing up, an incredible messenger and mentor." With the gift of leadership, I am determined to spend the remainder of my life helping comrades and others shunned by society. I am fueled by a divine intervention. My work is my life's purpose. Collaboration Breeds Innovation!

Reentry/Entry Programs
Unlike others, I served 35 years (consecutive) in prison. Most of my time was served in maximum and high (USP-penitentiaries) security level federal institutions, where I was and still am highly respected by my incarcerated comrades. While confined, I went through a series of epiphanies. They would change my thinking and led me to seek education. I began to transform and started educating my comrades to help them transform. After a tragedy involving my son, I created a Leadership Training Academy for young men. I wanted to be to the young men incarcerated what I never had--a real mentor. My life makes me uniquely qualified as an Incredible Messenger/Consultant for those within prison, entering the prison system or reentering society. I have seen, done and been through it all! The creator released me to help others. This is my purpose!

Public Safety Initiatives
I love my country! We all need to love our country first in order to appreciate how fortunate we are to be in America. Where else can you .... You fill in the blanks. This is missing in our communities. Most don't appreciate their communities or our country. In the minority communities, we have a "F" the Police attitude; manhood is in how many babies made and not how many that are taken care of. Communities are sadly viewed as a place where work is put in, not a place to thrive. As a result of this philosophy, they see no harm in destroying it. I lived this life and I mastered it. But I discovered I was sick. I had, a "Hood-Infected-Virus." I am lucky to have found a cure and it is my mission in life to help all my comrades do the same. My clients are my number one priority, and I’ll go the extra mile to make sure they’re completely satisfied with my work. My services are designed to tackle even the most complex projects. Prison Programs
(State and Federal)
During incarceration, I created and led a certified federal inmate program/organization within the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The Federal Bureau of Prison recognized my accomplishments and awarded me with Returning Citizen of the Year. The program I founded had several components: cognitive, entrepreneuar, vocational and a leadership training academy for young men. The organization grew to 60 members. Using only the resources on the prison compound, the program was responsible for conducting 26 college-level classes wherein participants completed over 1200 hours of course completions. Notably, the program was ran at a nominal expense to the prison administration. Through its community component we were responsible for helping 160 inmates find jobs and 6 started their own business. The program ran for 6 years at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York and was piloted at the Federal Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland for an HBO/Vice documentary.
I can assist "any" prison system with starting their own inmate led program for true change and reentry success. Once released, I started a similar program in the Washington, DC's Mayor's Office of Returning Citizens Affairs (MORCA).

INCREDIBLE MESSENGER
Incredible Messenger
This is my mission/passion in life. Prior to incarceration, I was on my way to the Olympics as a Boxer. After the 1980 Olympics boycot, my aspirations went with them. I took on a new role, Drug King-Pin, just like my father, Roland "Roach" Henry. I had just gotten a big connect. My girlfriend was assaulted and I chose to invoke my own revenge on her assailant. That one choice led to incarceration and Life, plus 40 years I began settling for prison life and for a good while I fooled myself into thinking I was in heaven. Then I spent 9 years in the Control Unit at USP Marion (at that time it was the highest security prison in the Federal Bureau of Prisons). My heaven would become my time in solitude, I was so focused and my mind was clear. I began studying psychology and got other inmates to start educating themselves. When I released from the Control Unit, I fell back into the game, big time. While serving time in SHU (Special Housing Unit) a Lieutenant asked me why was I settling for this shit. He walked away and he said, "Don't settle for this shit!" That was the ultimate "drop the mic" moment. I got it. In prison, there is so much hopelessness and despair that we settle for activities that do nothing for the betterment of ourselves, we settle for trappings and quick fixes that come with criminal activity. Then there is also the Hood-Infected-Virus so prevalent in our minority communities. I lived it, I know. My entire life and all of my experiences have led me to where I am today. If you've reached this page, we were destined to meet. Give me a call and let's plan the solution together. The projects listed below are just a sample of what I have done in the year following my release (2016). Think of what I can do for you. Every project is different and unique and requires strategic planning and a cohesive team-building approach towards tackling obstacles. Take a look and be amazed!

Testimonials
Great Feedback
“Ingenius! Mr. Henry was asked how he processed the repression, disrespect and belittling he endured while incarcerated. His reply, "Anger and rage are healthy emotions. I choose to channel that energy and use it for good. In 2004, when my son got shot by a rival gang, I created a Leadership Training Academy for young men. When anger is not channeled correctly, it manifests itself in anti-social behaviors that eventually paralyze you.”
D. Hill, Federal Bureau of Prisons
“Thank you for the training in emotional intelligence, public speaking and listening. With your motivation and training, I was able to put my shyness and fear aside and rise to another level. I can't believe I got up and gave my presentation of YMI and my own personal story. I highly respect and am inspired by you. ”
T. Lewis, Sr.
“
"I found Mr. Henry's speech very interesting. He presented himself extremely well and was very motivated. The issue I see with so many inmates in here is they are not motivated in the least and therefore will not succeed. He spent the last 15 years or so while in prison organizing a program that helped inmates land on their feet when they got out. I never would have thought in a million years that I would see or meet a man like this first hand. I am rejuvenated.”
